Plot Twist
Nobody's career is a straight line. Mine went from B.Tech at WBUT to CyberSWIFT, then to Google, then to Automatad, Glance, InMobi, and building AdsGupta on the side. Each step felt like a plot twist at the time.
Ranjan Dasgupta didn't plan to become an AdTech product leader. I planned to build software. What I found was that the most interesting software was in advertising: real-time systems, massive scale, and the challenge of aligning publishers, advertisers, and users. So the "twist" was really a series of choices that kept leading deeper into programmatic, exchanges, and monetization.
The non-linear path
At Google I learned how the biggest players think about yield and demand. At Glance I got to build a unified stack across Web, App, and CTV and scale it to $200M+. At InMobi I'm focused on exchange strategy for Web and CTV. And with AdsGupta, I'm exploring what happens when AI meets advertising. None of that was on a single roadmap—it was a mix of opportunity, curiosity, and saying yes to hard problems. I've written more about the Work and my origin story elsewhere.
